Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about ordering a custom rear end housing from Innovative Fab? We've answered the most common ones below. Don't see what you're looking for — give us a call at (636) 357-0836 or email Info@TheInnovativeFab.com.

Q: What rear end housing do I need for Pro Mod drag racing? A: For Pro Mod applications we recommend our Xtreme Drive Pro Series Floater Housing. It's built from 100% 4130 chromoly, TIG welded, and engineered to handle over 6,000 HP. It features 3.50" axle tubes, a .375" thick machined faceplate, billet 4-link brackets, and supports Ford 9" or 11" gear setups. It's our flagship build specifically designed for the extreme demands of Pro Mod racing.

Q: What gear setups do your housings support? A: All of our housings are built around the Ford 9" and Ford 11" gear setups. For customers running an 11" gear, we also offer 9" adapter pieces so you can run a 9" gear in an 11" housing if your application requires it.

Q: Can I get a fully custom rear end housing built to my specs? A: Yes — every housing we build is custom. To get started we'll need a few key specs from you: your wheel to wheel dimension, flange to flange dimension, which housing ends you want, your preferred 4-link bracket style (we offer two standard versions but can accommodate other brackets as well), your gear setup (9", 10", or 11"), and what the housing will be used under. Once we have those details we'll put together a build sheet and get you a quote.

Q: How much does a custom rear end housing cost? A: Pricing depends on the build spec and configuration. Our Sportsman Street Series Blank Housing starts at $1,300 and our Sportsman Street Series Fabricated Housing starts at $2,800. The Xtreme Drive Pro Series is priced on a per-build basis — call or email us with your specs and we'll get you a quote. All pricing is for the housing itself; shipping is additional.

Q: What is your lead time? A: Most orders ship within 2 weeks. Lead time can vary depending on order volume and build complexity — contact us before ordering if you're working against a deadline and we'll let you know exactly where we stand.

Q: Do you require a deposit? A: Yes, we require a 20% deposit to begin your build. The remaining balance is invoiced upon completion before the housing ships.

Q: How do I place an order or request a quote? A: The best way to get started is to call us at (636) 357-0836 or email Info@TheInnovativeFab.com with your build specs. We'll go over the details, put together a build sheet, and get you a quote. We don't have an online checkout for custom builds — every housing is built to order so we want to make sure we have everything right before we start.

Q: Do you ship nationwide? A: Yes, we ship to customers anywhere in the United States. We're based in Lake St. Louis, MO and have built housings for race teams and builders across the country.

Q: What materials do you use? A: Every housing we build is 100% 4130 chromoly throughout — tubes, faceplate, and all structural components. All welds are TIG welded in-house by our certified welder. We don't cut corners on material because the application doesn't allow for it.

Q: How many rear end housings have you built? A: Our lead welder Tyler Koester has personally built over 500 rear end housings since 2018 — it's the only thing he has done in the fabrication field. Combined with Craig Sheffield's 20+ years of engineering experience in the racing industry, you're getting a level of focused expertise that's hard to find anywhere else.
